| A Song for the Week |

November 15, 2012

My husband, Jeremy is quite the music fanatic. He can rattle off random music facts that I’m not even sure how he knows. He loves some classic Dave Matthews, yet I’ll find him singing to Katy Perry while getting dressed in the morning.

I’ve always had a deep fondness for music, and Jeremy has increased my listening gauge for true by introducing me to some solid musicians. Even if it’s a musician I’ve like but not loved, he’ll introduce me to a gem that I can’t get out of my head.

The gem this week is “Keep Your Heart Young” by Brandi Carlile. I seriously have listened to it many more times than any human should. And if you drive by me on the interstate, you’re probably going to find me belting out and stumbling on the lyrics because I haven’t quite learned every single word yet.

Keep Your Heart Young – Brandi Carlile

It’s such a fun song with some quirky lyrics, yet a heartfelt lesson. I can be quite a big kid sometimes, and I’ve been know to be found in the toy aisle of Target many a time. I think we have a lot to learn from children and their careless joy.

Let’s keep our hearts young.

PS– Keep tuned, I’m brainstorming a new blog series and music will be the heart of it. Who doesn’t love a new tune?
