A Thank You to Our Veterans + Music Monday

November 11, 2013

It’s a beautiful day and it is Music Monday, but first, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you.  I personally have many family members and friends who have served and continue to serve.  They sacrifice time with their loved ones, and so many have sacrificed so much more than that. There are many families out there without mothers, fathers, siblings or spouses at home and it breaks my heart. In a world full of so many different wars, hurt and pain, men and women are overseas missing moments in their lives while there are families here aching for them. I will always refuse to get into the politics of it, because I believe it all comes down to love and life and it hurts to know that families are split apart for the honor and sacrifice men + women are making. And even if those men + women are stationed here, there are still so many daily sacrifices made.

So, we thank you. Thank you will not cover the depth of that gratitude, but I’m not sure our language has words that can truly express that gratitude.

And with that, you all are men + women of incredible honor! May you feel overwhelming love, praise and thankfulness today! But even more so,  I hope  today isn’t the only day you are showered with thanks, as it’s a part of life so many families work through and pray through every day! Hug the ones you love and hold them close…it sounds so “cliche” and “sappy,” but it’s something so very many of us take for granted, myself included. Each day is new and different and a new chance to love those around you.

And before I close up this post, enjoy the Music Monday playlist today full of Kings of Leon! I know this album came out a few weeks ago, but I haven’ had a chance to feature it. “Temple” and “Supersoaker” are just a few of my favorites, and if you’ve been a fan in the past, this album certainly doesn’t disappoint and it’s definitely a current favorite of mine. So, I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and rock out while getting your Monday going!
