I first met Lisa and Dan at Starbucks after I received Lisa’s sweet email about their idea for a simple city hall wedding. We immediately hit it off and it was so exciting to see the plans come together. These two didn’t want anything flashy, they just wanted to be married and enjoy the day together. Dan had his eye on a a J Crew suit in blue for their day and Lisa had already had a simple dress in mind that she loved..she just had to find the perfect shoes.
So, on a chilly October Thursday morning, they married in Franklin. It was an eventful start, as the county officials had supplied some confusing information, but eventually we made our way to the right spot. These two signed their marriage license and headed to a back room to have their official ceremony. It was short + sweet with their closest loved ones–their parents and Dan’s grandmother, so sweetly referred to as Annie.
Afterwards, we headed to Carnton Plantation to take a few portraits, as they will have their official reception/celebration there in December once Dan has finished up law school. The morning ended with a classic Southern lunch at Puckett’s before they headed out for their getaway in D.C.
