Why to Photograph Your Baby’s First Year: Charlottesville Newborn & Family Photographer

Family

One of my most popular family collections is my baby’s first year collection that includes 3-6 sessions over the first year of your baby’s life.

You’ll hear it a million times, but they really do grow up so fast. And whether you want to or not, your heart will ache a little looking back at just “how little the were!” You’ll ohh and ahh over their sweet rolls, that toothy grin and their first steps.

So how can you possibly savor it all?

Be present
and have someone you trust document it all for you.

There probably won’t be any other time in your life where you’re getting multiple photo sessions a year, but a baby’s first year will always be a choice you’ll be so glad you made.

So, what does a Baby’s First Year Collection include?

Three to Six sessions
All parents spread these out differently, but the most popular are newborn, 6 months and one year. It’s a great spacing that allows you to treasure the biggest milestones, from sitting up to crawling and walking! You can always add another session at a special rate or you can choose a collection of 6 sessions that includes newborn, 3 month, 6 months, 9 months and one year. Of course, we can do an adjusted schedule based on milestones like sitting up, crawling and walking!

Did I mention that if you book a Baby’s First Year Collection, you also have the option to book a mini session at any point during their first year? So, if the grandparents are in town and you want it documented, or something special like a christening, you can have each sweet milestone documented.

An Heirloom Book
The best part? Seeing your baby’s development in printed photographs. You can flip through pages  to see how much they changed and then always have photographs to share with them as they continue grow.  It’s always amazing to see toddler interact with photos of themselves as a baby – what a gift to them! My daughter Eisley simply adores seeing photographs of herself as a baby, it builds such sweet confidence for our littles.

All Of  Your Digital Files
My individual sessions include a set number of digital files depending on which collection you choose, but the Baby’s First Year Collection includes your full set! So, not only do you have a beautiful Heirloom at the end of the year, you also have the entire digital collection to archive and protect in case you want to share them online or make prints on your own in the future!

And guess what? You don’t have to keep track of the sessions. I’ll help remind you of upcoming sessions and reach out to schedule each session a few months ahead of time!

The Baby’s First Year Collection is a favorite of mine and my clients’ for good reason. If you’re expecting, I’d love to share even more details! You can contact me here to share any questions and book your collection.

PS – if you’re hesitant to book sessions during this uncertain season, you can read more about how I’m preparing and taking precautions for your family. Safety & health is a priority and it’s not something I take lightly!
