A Very Cherry Anniversary: Rosemary Beach

Personal

www.amynicolephoto.com/blogGood morning!

Boy, do I have quite a few photographs for you today. After a few days of going through hundreds of photos, I have some of my favorites from our anniversary trip to Rosemary Beach. It’s hard to believe it’s already been a week and a half since our trip. The trip truly was an incredible escape and I’d say it took me the rest of the week to settle back into real life. Though, I would have been just fine never truly settling back in. Talk about a week without stress, or really many thoughts to be honest. This getaway was the definition of relaxation.

Rosemary Beach is unlike any beach I’d visited before. Growing up in VA, the Outer Banks was the go-to vacation spot. I hadn’t seen any beaches on the panhandle and wow, how mesmerizing. The teal blue water and white sand were unreal. Then, add European/West Indies architecture and you’re in another world called Rosemary Beach.

It’s a place where bikes are left unlocked and you have to have a code to access the beach. It’s a quaint place with beauty that’s unexplainable, and I doubt even my photographs will do it justice. With cobblestone streets, stringed lights, a different door on each building and a pristine beach, I now understand why people here in Nashville rave about this gem.

We were fortunate enough to stay in a loft some of our friends own, which was so beautiful itself. We opened the shutters on the balcony to quietly view people walk+bike around town in their cover-ups and sandals with snow cones and iced coffees. There was a VW bus parked outside all weekend, which only added to this fun culture.

With all that to say, I am just so eager to share these photos, because it was a photographer’s dream. Also, as you’ll see below, we even explored a few parts outside of  town. One of our favorites was Alys Beach up the road in all its white splendor. Every building was white with some colored accents, and it felt like a town out of a movie or a dream photo shoot. I couldn’t have imagined this place up, so be sure to scroll through because you won’t want to miss this spot!
