A Look at 2018: Charlottesville Family & Newborn Photographer

January 16, 2019

2018 was the year we officially grew our family, and my goodness, my family work took on a bright & beautiful new vision. I’ve always adored photographing families, as “family” is at the root of why I started this business in the beginning. Family can be such a grounding & safe place for so many, and it certainly was for me as I grew up. I adore seeing such different visions of family and documenting families as they grow and walk through new seasons!

This year, many clients welcomed new little ones, whether it be the first child or a new child that makes their family even more perfect. And for other clients, we worked together to simply press pause and document the season they are in. Most of my sessions took place at each client’s home, and I think it may be my favorite place to photograph families. Everyone is in the safest place they know and it helps everyone let their guard down a bit.

Though I wish I could share many more images from the year, as I had the joy of working with countless families, I rounded up just a few favorites to share from 2018!

To my families, thank you. Thank you for teaching me so much about what it means to be a family and thank you for welcoming me to document these beautiful seasons in your life. It’s an honor and I’m so very grateful!
