Winter Charlottesville Newborn Session at Home: Waters

One of the greatest joys of photographing families isn’t just watching babies & children grow, but watching families grow as they bring new little ones home. You may remember the Joyce family from their sessions during James’s first year of life. James is almost two and officially a big sister! Her brother, Waters, joined their family in late November.

At just over a week old, I photographed this sweet little boy and his family in the beautiful winter light. Mallory was glowing per usual, and joy was radiant with new life. James even warmed up a bit during the session as she got to hold her baby brother (you won’t want to miss that photo below because it’s as precious as precious gets!). She enjoyed it so much that she very much let us know she didn’t want us to take him from her, ha! I love how a bond between siblings starts so young!
