I reached out to the amazing ladies at Emerson James Rental, as they are always collaborating with such wonderful teams to create beautifully unique tablescapes! Plus, they keep adding to their collection of modern, elegant tabletop pieces and I just can’t get enough. Of course, Elisa & Mallory didn’t disappoint in sharing some wonderful tips for my brides as you work on the vision & design of your wedding!
My main question?
We love helping brides and grooms create an environment that reflects who they are and is inviting for their family and friends. Here are a few tips we have at Emerson James Rental to create an exceptional and meaningful event!
1. Balance modern and traditional touches. To create a timeless event, our line is a mix of modern elements and more traditional ones to keep everyone happy. For example, if you’re like us and like a mix, you can pair your modern flatware with a more traditional plate and vintage glassware.

2. Say yes to color. Lots of brides initially say they don’t want to add color to their wedding, but soft shades of color or varying texture can add layers to your table. For example, you can use our harper plates for soft pinks in varying strengths for subtle color, or our indigo pattern and stripe plates for a more bold color choice. Alternatively you can use white or ivory plates and choose a linen for your table or flowers in your arrangements that add color.

3. Find a single item that you love and build a setting around it. A beautiful napkin ring, charger, or flatware setting can help you define your style and create a space you love. If you’re having a hard time defining your style as you start designing, focus on a single item that speaks to you and work from there.

4. Add a little texture. One of my favorite ways to add texture to your table with a charger. Many of our chargers are wooden or natural elements because they are a wonderful way to layer between a linen and your dinner plate. My rule of thumb is that you want at least three types of materials on your table, so think about how those elements come together – a fabric, a metal, one wood, etc.
We hope these tips help you to create a space that is meaningful and memorable for you as you plan your wedding day!
