Charlottesville, VA Family & Newborn Photographer: Year in Review

I almost decided not to write a “year in review” post this year. But it’s always a sweet and joyful reminder to look through my portfolio the year and see just how many amazing families I had the opportunity to work with. Each and every family brings their own story to the session and it’s a treat to watch all of their dynamics at play. Each and every one of you teach me beautiful ways of parenting and inspire me in dreaming about our family.

Though I adore (adore) in-home sessions, this year were mostly forced to move outdoors and it pushed me in new ways as I worked with such different light outdoors and in new locations! I photographed families at the river, near mountains, in fields, in fields, at parks, at home in your outdoor spaces,  and everything in between. Sessions took me all over Charlottesville and Richmond, and in a year that I expected to be very lean, it was such a vibrant summer & fall full of amazingly lovely families!

Choosing images to feature is always incredibly hard because I adore all the families I get to work with, so I don’t want to call these images my favorites,  or the best of….because to me, the best and favorite images are the ones my clients hold near and dear…on their walls and in their hands. That is why I do what I do, to give families heirlooms that give children & generations a peek into the family that raised them and cherishes them.

So, I won’t call these favorites or “best of.” These photographs simply bring me joy and inspiration going into a new year. They share a peek into my vision & growth this year. May you enjoy a very select peek into 2020 and thank you to each and every one of you who welcomed me into your lives this year!
