Relaxed Family Photos in Byrd Park in Richmond, VA

After welcoming their son early in 2020 and then making a big move from NYC to Richmond in the middle of the pandemic, this sweet family was ready and excited to document their family of three. They wanted their photos feel a bit more casual and fitting to their family, while also tying in places near their home that meaning to their family.

We started at Byrd Park in Richmond, VA since it was nearby their home to enjoy some of the foliage and golden autumn light. Afterwards, we headed to their neighborhood for a new location. They spent so much of quarantine taking walks down their gorgeous tree-lined street, so it was only perfect to incorporate. Oh, how I love incorporating “home” into sessions, even if that means outside of your home, or your neighborhood. Yes, “at-home sessions” could even mean outdoors and around your neighborhood! Not only does everyone feel comfortable because it feels familiar, but it’s also a space and location that can’t be recreated for anyone else – it’s your very own haven.
