Modern & Relaxed Family Photo Session at Home in Charlottesville, VA

I’ll never tire of in-home sessions here in Charlottesville.

The home is so much of the heartbeat of your family and tells a story in itself. It’s a place that everyone feels comfortable and it’s a place no other family can use as the location for their family photos, as it’s totally and completely unique and meaningful to you!

Covid has made these at-home sessions more difficult and less frequent, but I sense and air of hope that in-home sessions will return this summer or later this year, and for that, I’m so excited! I love how light works in a home, I love how kids light up and love sharing their space with me…I could go on an on!

This amazing family welcomed me into their home for their session, and oh,  it was such joy to spend time with them. I love watching the dynamics of bigger families, as there’s an energy and joyful chaos that can’t quite be described. I grew up with one sibling, so the dynamic of multiple siblings is something I enjoy watching unfold! And then getting to see the parents’ dynamics. with each child and the children as a whole unit is just so beautiful.

For this session, we used a few spaces in their home, and a highlight was watching them all play piano, dance and sing together. I can only imagine the memories that are made around that piano in their home!
