Richmond, VA Extended Family Photo Session

Every now and then, I get to photograph extended families and it’s so fun to see the whole family together and to watch their connections to one another. How mom and dad interact with their children, how grandparents interact with grandchildren, and all the in-between. There are always extra laughs to be had, especially after a year where we all couldn’t see the ones we love as much as we would hope.

And maybe that’s what makes those extended family photo sessions even more special these days…the fact that we all know just how sacred each moment is that we get together. How hard it is when it’s stripped away, and how complicated it has all become, just to spend time with our nearest and dearest.

My thought is that now is always the right time for photos. Not when the season is just right. Not when your house is perfect. Not when you lose those extra 5 pounds….but now. It’s something you’ll simply never regret, because photographs are one of the few things that can pause time just for a second to document your family, in all their unique amazingness!
