Saying Goodbye & Hello to Home: Honest Family Photos at Home in Charlottesville, VA

October 21, 2021

Saying goodbye to a home you’ve loved is such a layered experience of emotions. Though there is excitement in making a new house your own, there will always be memories that live within the walls and spaces of the home you’ve come to love. Whether that’s the playroom that was always full of life, the dining nook (or bar) where you came together to share a meal, or the backyard where you spend enjoying all the goodness each season has to offer…so much life is lived within your home and it’s something to cherish.

This sweet family reached out to me in the spring, as they were planning to move to a new home this summer and they wanted to document the home that had brought them so much joy…the place where they had brought home both of their babies that have grown into the sweetest toddlers. I’ve had the joy of working with them ever since big brother was a baby, and I look forward to seeing them each and every year. We usually work together for mini sessions, so it was such a treat to spend extended time with them and get to know what everyday life looks like for them!

And to add to that, we created an Heirloom Book of their favorite images so they can always have these photos printed to enjoy! You can see a sneak peek of their gorgeous Heirloom Book at the end of the post and on my Instagram highlights!
