Best of 2019: Charlottesville Wedding Photographer

January 16, 2020

I always trick myself into believing these roundup posts from each year will get easier…but here I am finishing up this post much later than I anticipated because it’s just so darn hard to pick your favorite photos when you get the chance to work with so many amazing couples in one year!

This post feels a bit different this year….the people have always mattered more to me than just the pretty (though those don’t have to be mutually exclusive), but my vision this past year was to try to create photographs that reflected that more than ever. I want to create photographs that take a couple straight back to the moment and all they felt in that moment. The nerves, the excitement and most of all, the joy. I want them to feel their nearest and dearest surrounding them, I want them to remember savoring the very best food on their best day. And I want to them to feel the moments they may have missed or got caught up in, because the reality is, a lot happens in a wedding day not only for the bride & groom, but for all of their family and friends too. Memories are shared and memories are made, and that’s not something I ever want to take lightly.

So, yes, you’ll see some pretty details and some pretty people, but what I hope you find when enjoying this post is a true sense of joy. Joy that’s contagious from these couples and their families.

To each and every couple who chose me to document a day that means so much to your family’s story, thank you. I’m honored to have played a tiny part in all of it!
