Outdoor Summer Family Photos at Home in Charlottesville, VA

Summer has always been my favorite season, so I love getting to do family sessions in the summer where the kids get to run wild and free in the tall grass, or in this case, some wildflowers.

This sweet family wanted to savor the season of life their family is in, while also savoring the summer season that is so vibrant for them. And since their session was last summer during the pandemic,  it only felt appropriate to document their family in a place they had spent so many of their days…home. From running in the fields, to welcoming a new puppy, to picking wildflowers and enjoying those perfect summer evenings after long days in the sun.

It was a joy to follow them around their home and to document all the simple things of life that make it just so rich in beauty, especially among a season that brought new challenges and uncertainty. I thought it was only appropriate to save this session until this summer to blog, as we all walk into a new season of life – in all the ways that can be said!
