Winter Lifestyle Family Photos: Charlottesville Family Photographer

Though my photography season usually slows down in the winter, I love when a few sessions are sprinkled in…especially on those oddly warm(ish) days of winter.  Winter light is so soft and unlike any other time of year, and if you have young children, it also means an earlier session time since the sun sets earlier instead of those late evening sunset times!

We lucked out for this family’s session, as we had a random 50 degree day to enjoy in December. Though the foliage had made its way to the ground, the warm golden light greeted us for such a lovely afternoon together.  The pandemic has made documenting certain milestones harder for families, as there’s always so many factors to consider with little ones,  and I’m so thankful this family reached out to document their little man as he had recently celebrated his first birthday. We met at their family’s property and chased the light (and all the sweet giggles) for the afternoon. This session is such a great reminder that it doesn’t take an “epic” location to have beautiful photos. Beautiful light and the love you share & enjoying one another is all you need!
