Tupelo Floral Company Brand Photo Shoot in Charlottesville, VA

If you’ve been here a while, you may know I got my start in photojournalism.  I had too many jobs at JMU between the yearbook and The Breeze, and other organizations because I simply couldn’t get enough of photography and telling stories.

So when clients reach out about branding photography, it’s always an exciting opportunity! Brand photography works an old muscle of mine that allows me a way of storytelling that is at my core. It’s how I got started, and I love getting to tell a story rather than “create” one. Instead of making photographs that fit the trends, I love getting to hear a client’s vision and all about their brand so that we can collaborate in making photographs that tell their story well.

When Shelby reached out about collaborating for branding photos for her relaunch of her floral company, I was giddy! I love supporting and working with other local Charlottesville businesses, and especially women-owned businesses. Shelby was so intentional in working with all women-owned businesses in her launch process and it was so exciting to see her brand come to life last week as she launched her website for Tupelo Floral Company.

Instead of just showing up on shoot day,  we took the time to really talk through her vision,  brand and clients she plans to serve. That really help set a solid foundation as we came together for her Charlottesville branding photo session. She really thought through it all by even designing a tablescape and other floral arrangements to  really show off her incredible talent!

Her new website really shares the heart behind her mission, and I love seeing which photos she chose to help highlight that mission. Congratulations, Shelby on an incredible launch and website!
