Timeless Summer One Year Photo Session at The Boar’s Head Resort

What better way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday than with a family photo portrait session?

I had the joy of photographing this sweet family during their first child’s first year of life (newborn, 4 months and one year), and was overjoyed to photograph their family again for their newest addition’s first year of life! This time, we did a one month session at James Monroe Highland, a 6 month session at private Airbnb in Crozet outside of Charlottesville and we finished it all up with this summer session at the Boar’s Head Resort!

We had planned for a session closer to his first birthday, but of course the one weekend they planned to travel into town had a grim forecast with endless rain. It was a great call, because we ended up with the perfect morning weather for this July session last summer.

The grounds were so lush and we had the perfect weather by scheduling the session first thing in the morning. If you’re someone who doesn’t love the heat, summer sessions in the morning are so great! Plus, we missed any crowds by starting off early in the morning.
